Can a 14 year old get a job at a golf course?Bryan I'm 14 and living in western Wisconsin. I play golf regularly and need a summer job. I'm going to apply this spring and when I do, what should I put on my resume and how should I present myself to the manager? There are two courses in my town, so If one denies me I'll try the other. Also I'll turn 15 later in the summer too.
Krystle In Wisconsin you can work as a caddy at a golf course as young as age 12 or any other job starting at age 14. You must still have a signed permit from your parent or guardian. In the resource box below is a link to the information according to your home state. When you speak to the course managers, be cheerful, respectful and totally honest. Tell them that you love the game of golf and that you hope to learn more about the game and course management by working over your summer vacation.I honestly don't think that you will need a resume' to work a summer job at age 14 but if you want to, then more power to you 8).
Emilio Yes you can. The minimum legal work age in Wisconsin is 14... but you have to get a work permit. They cost $5 and you will need your birth certificate & social security card... as well as parental consents (one of your parents and/or legal guardian needs to sign off on the form). I guess if you have all of that, it will just be up to the golf course if they want to hire you or not. Good luck.
Barry i turn 15 this summer to and i work for my golfcourse by picking up the range but also i live in a smaller town so that might factor in too
Candelaria yea im sure you can as long as you can get there everyday. and hey im doing the same thing. i have applied to 3 golf courses and about to go to 3 more sometime in the next couple of weeks
Garland You need a work permit signed by your parents.
Crysta I think caddying is the best option...
