What are the top 5 municipal golf courses in oregon? "If you're a golfer, don't forget to bring your clubs along on a trip to Portland. There are plenty of public courses around the area, and greens fees at municipal courses are as low as $21 for 18 holes on a weekday and $35 on weekends and holidays. Municipal golf courses operated by the Portland Bureau of Parks and Recreation include Redtail Golf Course, 8200 SW Scholls Ferry Rd. (tel. 503/646-5166); Eastmoreland Golf Course, 2425 SE Bybee Blvd. (tel. 503/775-2900), which is the second oldest golf course in the state (this one gets our vote for best municipal course); Heron Lakes Golf Course, 3500 N. Victory Blvd. (tel. 503/289-1818), a Robert Trent Jones design; and Rose City Golf Course, 2200 NE 71st Ave. (tel. 503/253-4744), on the site of a former country club."
Hows the golf in portland oregon? I am planning to move from Atlanta Ga. to Portland Or. this year. In Atlanta the courses stay open year round and we are able to play almost any day during spring, summer, and fall. Also, we do have several nice semi-warm days that pop up during the winter that allows us to sneak in a couple of rounds. How often will I be able to tee it up in Portland during the year and what will the weather be like?

Is all hope for college golf lost? Hello, Im a freshman the University of Oregon. I came to this school after much thought about going to a smaller school to play golf. I had a few opportunites to play at DIII schools in oregon and californa, but in the end, the no scholarship and having my parents pay 40,000 a year for a lesser education, college experience and a golf pipedream got to me. I am not saying i dont love it here at the U Of O, but seeing all the athletes and reading about freshman golfers across the states, its made me start thinking again. I started playing golf as a sophmore in highschool, (which i understand is terribly late). My first ever tourney i shot 57 on nine holes. I hate being terrible, so i work my *** off all summer, and i was in the low 40's junior year, but i still was not where i wanted to be, so i worked my *** off again, and on the first tourney of the year senior year we went back to the course that i shot 57 on and shot 34 going out. I won twice, with a 72 and a 79, (the 79 being on a course where a oregon am qualifier was taking place the next day.)I just need some advice and thoughts, on weather my dream is dead, or if i should look at some smaller schools for next year and get back out on the range and start working on my game again.
How can i get scouted for golf? I am a sophomore at Banks High School in Banks, Oregon, and we have a high school golf team, i dont play on it because I play baseball and they are at the same time. I do play golf just with family and friends on the course and have been told im very good, I average 210-240 on my tee shots and i mostly keep it in the fairways, my average score on 9 holes is about a 48 on par 36... I need help figuring out how I can get scouted by some colleges or get their attention on me for golf but without joining the golf team!!! Thank you!!! |
