Is it quite strange if i play golf alone in the course?Dustin I will go to Oklahoma next month(I'm foreigner), and I addictedin golf, so I'll play a lot. And there is a problem... I have no one to play golf with me. actually I don't care, but I can play alone?(I'm sorry for my bad english)
Trenton Usually when you go the pro shop to pay your green fees you will be asked if you are a single, double or foursome. They just want to know how many in your group today. If there are several people waiting to play they may want you to pair up or round out a foursome. Sometimes I like playing the course alone if no one is immediately playing behind me. It gives me the chance to play more than one ball on the course. You know, if you don't like the hit, just tee up or drop another ball and hit that to. Golf is fun no matter where you play! Have fun Lotka.
Clarine Yes you can play by yourself, It goes fast so no one will care. Someone will probally ask you to join them if you want to. Hell if you come to fort wayne, in i will play
Dee I like going out alone i like playing at my own pace. However if i ever went to Oklahoma ( though i cannot imagine ever doing that) ill look you up and we can play together! =)
Alvin sometimes there is nothing better than to play a course by yourself or with others you dont know... they will pair you up with other players or you can play alone if you ask and they ok it... that way you can play at your own pace also... if youre not pushed and have no one behind you , it would be a good opportunity to hit two balls into the greens, working on your approach shot and chips... but better to play with someone, just in case you happen to fire that ace youve been waiting for all your life... good luck and enjoy your trip!
Clarinda why would it be strange ?a nice relaxing day out side ,sports ,no competition (other than your self) .what could be more relaxing ?(besides fishing)
Jeri I sometimes prefer to play by myself. Especially when I get out of work around 6pm and I just want to practice. I've never really been able to keep myself practicing on the range every day like i should, so playing alone later at night is my practice. Sometimes I even like bringing a few beers along with me... so I combine golfing alone with drinking alone... why not?
Annamaria absolutely yes. you could use ure mp3 player as your friend
Kathline You can definitely play alone if the golf course is not crowded. But golf courses will also pair you with a group and you can meet people. I do this a lot when I go on vacation. I always have a good time. Just call the course and let them know you are a single. Some will let you make a tee time, but most will probably tell you to stop by and they'll fit you in when they can.
Genna Heck yeah! I like playing with others usually, but if no one is available, playing a round by yourself can be a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. I'd recommend doing it every once in awhile. Also, even if you don't plan on playing w/ anyone, the starter will likely pair you with another person or group, so its also a good chance to meet other golfers in your area. Have Fun!
Joaquin yes, what happens if you get a double eagle or a hole in one? No one will believe you and no one it can't be official.
Junior I travel on business often and in the evening or weekends I'll go to a course and tell the pro that I'm a single and would like to join another single for a round. Most times that introduce me to another golfer and we play. If they aren't busy I'll play alone. If you a member of a club back home try a private club during your travels. Ofter times they will accommodate you.
Lucie It's not strange. If the course is not crowded it shouldn't be a problem. If the course is crowded you will probably get inserted into some group.
