pro golfing question?
I am 14 years old and a freshman in high school. I started playing golf about 1 year ago and really loved it and was decent. So I worked at it and became pretty good. I tried out for the school team and made varsity as a freshman. I really would like to become a pro golfer and have a good facility across the street from me. I have a little public branch of Firestone Country Club across the street from me. I have a membership which gives me certain privileges. I go to the range at least 5 days a week but usually 7 days a week. I hit around 300-500 balls a day. I divide it equally for each of my clubs. I usually play 18 holes a week sometimes 27. The course only has nine holes but its still practice. My neighbor has a little putting green and lets me use it anytime I want. This summer I am going to do at least 2 tournaments in addition to my school team. I am currently a 4 handicap at my home course. In school I have good grades (this year I have a cumulative gpa of 3.33). So my question is do you think I have a legit shot of going pro in golf on tours such as the PGA, Nationwide, or Hooters tours. Also how do you go about getting a tour card and how much does it cost. And I forget to add if this means anything. My parents make around $150,000 a year combined and they have bought me all Taylor Made clubs, so they are all top of the line. And I live in Ohio so I can golf for 8 months per year and thats how long my membership lasts for.Thanks in advance

I am buying my husband new gold clubs for his birthday and wanted to know what brand. I saw this brand for 250$-Golden Bear Mega Pro 460-But wasn't sure if this is a good brand or what-I do not want to go above 250-Also, I wanted to buy him a couple rounds of golf, but do not know any good golf courses around here-I wanted one near or around columbus, or lancaster. Is there a golf course that you can play that has you playing in west virginia ohio and pennsylvania?
What I mean by that is awhile ago I saw a brochure for a golf course where you can drive in Pennsylvania, chip from West Virgina, and putt in Ohio or something like that. Anyone know of a golf course like this?

Have you ever played granville golf course?
I had the chance this summer to play a course in Ohio called Granville Golf Course. It was great, a Donald Ross course with big old trees, spectacular views, and well layed out holes with plenty of challenges. I was just wondering if anyone else had played it and what they thought.

What would a membership cost say at the Inverness golf course in Toledo,Ohio or Muirfield in Columbus,Ohio. I've heard there is a waiting list and then a vote by the members to allow you to join. Need help with golf surprise newbie to golf has questions?
I am going to be seeing my out of town boyfriend this week and I want to surprise him by taking him out for an afternoon of golf. He has been going through alot lately and his previous grilfriend wouldn't golf with him nor could he do anything without her, so he hasn't found time or been able to golf for about four years now although he loves it. I don't know if I should take him to a driving range (keep in mind I have never been on a golf course) or a golf course. He is coming from out of town and this is a surprise so I don't want to ask him to bring clubs. So do I go to a driving range or a golf course? Can I rent or borrow clubs from either one? How does that work? What is the average cost for a public course? Any advice on this idea would be much appreciated!!! Also, this would be in the Youngstown, Ohio area so any advice on where to go would also be a great help!!!
Happy hollow golf links?
I have an old photograph of my great-grandfather holding a golf club, with a sign behind him that reads "Happy Hollow Golf Links". Photo is probably from 1920s-1930s. He was born and lived in Ohio. I can't seem to find anything but a place in Nebraska. Does anyone know of any others with that name that were around that long ago? Obviously he could of traveled, but I have no idea if the place in the photo is even a golf course ? Any information would be appreciated!

I don't really enjoy watching golf but i would really like to play... i've been golfing once and it was a total embarsesment but i still enjoyed it... I live in central Ohio and would like to go golfing again but i don't own any clubs and would have to rent some can anyone reconmend a good course for a beginner in central Ohio where i could rent clubs... also how much do clubs cost to rent?
Golfing in the heat?
do you do better when you golf in really hot weather. today i golfed 9 at a medium to hard course. forrest hills in elyria ohio. and i golfed WAY better than what i did at a course i know. i golfed a 48 on a par 35 which is not bad for a 15 year old. but last week i went to a different course that i have been to a few times and golfed a 54 i believe. but it was cooler. today i was in 95+ weather. so, yeah. do you golf better in warmer weather?
How can i make money playing golf?
Ive asked a similar question before, but I want to get serious about golf and I want to make some money off of it, and hopefully one day go professional. Im a 20 year old living in ohio and I have a 4 handicap after playing less than a year. I want to enter ametuer tournements but I dont know how to get my foot in the door. Or how to even find local tournements aournd here. If anybody can help me please let me know, I at least want to make the money I've put into it back. Would it be better to go to a course and talk to their club professional, or what, Im clueless and its aggrivating me. Any help will be appreciated. |
