Golfing in the heat?Caroyln do you do better when you golf in really hot weather. today i golfed 9 at a medium to hard course. forrest hills in elyria ohio. and i golfed WAY better than what i did at a course i know. i golfed a 48 on a par 35 which is not bad for a 15 year old. but last week i went to a different course that i have been to a few times and golfed a 54 i believe. but it was cooler. today i was in 95+ weather. so, yeah. do you golf better in warmer weather?
Frederick this is not an easy question to answer. The best answer that i can think of is that golf is a game of inconsistency. You may go to a course one day and shoot even par at 9 am. the next day you can go to that same course at 4 pm and shoot 15 over. and vise verse. the temperature does effect the game some, when talking about the roll of the ball on fairways and the heat making you less powerful in your swing. but the fact that golf is always inconsistent is the best way to answer the question.
Delaine Sometimes, ya I live in Ohio too and the heat can get to you. Umm, the heat somewhat loosens my muscles faster, but kills me physically and mentally. I do better in cooler temps. I prefer 80 deg. w/ a nice breeze.
Melony Your ball will roll alot farther when the fairway is dried out. A 240 yard in the winter may be a 300 yard drive in the summer. My drives always check up in the winter and roll forever in the summer.
Alicia I don't really play better in warmer weather, I try to not play in the hotter days of summer. Golf is a funny game in that sometimes you are right on track with a great round and other times it just plains sucks.
Lecia I live in columbus forrest is a nice course,I think you getting better
Genevieve I live in Tucson, AZ and I am 14 and golf today in a tournament. I shot a 79 and I have been doing very well lately. I've researched around for your same question and apparently the warmer driver head and ball makes the ball jump off fast and fly better. I have noticed that my muscles loosen easier, and since the hot weather can take its toll if you do not conserve energy, you naturally compact your swing and have less movement in your swing. You may not feel like it, but your body must do that to last walking 18 holes. There are my 2 cents!
Dick yes your ball gets better lift and travels longer distances in hot humid weather.
Hattie Your good or your not... I am not comfortable if it is too hot and humid...
Buffy my perfect golf weather is about mid 80s... i mean i hate golfing when it is extremely hot... or when it is extremely cold... i seemed more relax at my perfect weather... i live in calli so the weather is different all around... but i do golf better when it is not too hot or not too cold... just about perfect is my preference... lol
Mollie I never really thought about but my best rounds have come in the hottest weather.I live in a hot area and I golf a lot in the summer so it might be a coincidence but in the winter I'll shoot a 45 or 46 then in the summer I'll shoot a 39 or 40.I dunno I'll have to pay attention more.
