What should i look for in finding a good golf instructor? what if any questions should i pose the instructor?Danita
I am 55 years young: nonsmoker or drinker, love to walk the course, and getting back into golf after 15 years away from the game. I have never taken a course in golf and self taught as a result of caddying when I was a young lad growing up in Michigan.

Ask some of your golfing buddies if they know of a good instructor. Word usually travels around the course about good and bad instructors. After you meet the instructor, ask him/her to take a look at your swing to see if they can help you improve and what your problem might be. Their answer will help you make your decision.

I would go up to the course that you usually play at and ask the club pro if he has any suggestions for you. Most country clubs have a golf pro that gives lessons. A good question to ask an instructor is if he has time to work around your schedule. A lot of instructors have to many students that they won't have time to work with you a lot. Also if you like to walk the course a lot, find an instructor that does on course instructing. I have had golf lessons with my instructor and sometimes we will play around and he will give me pointers. I find this to be way more beneficial then just hitting a bucket of balls. This way you also get help on your putting and short game. I hope you find a good instructor that meets your needs!
