I shot par on some what difficult courses in michigan is there a amature tour for me?Dorie
im 18 years old and just recently picked up golf again, i have always been decent and have started playing 3 to 4 times a week and want to try and make golf my profession, if anyone has advice or armature tours i could compete on i would appreciate it.

Try the US Amateur qualifier at Harbor Springs at the end of July. Entries available at USGA.org. That will tell you where you stand

Amateurs do not have tours. Contact the local state golf association in Michigan which is affiliated with the USGA. They will have a schedule of all the tournaments to be held, the dates and the venue as well as the handicap indices which apply. You must be within the established range in order to participate. That group will tell you which USGA qualifiers are to be held as well as the state tournaments which are sponsored by the state organization.
