Well, Helen Alfredsson's scores of 64, 74, 69, and 71 equate to -8,+2,-3, and -1 respectively. Add the integers together, -8+2-3-1=-10. Helen's totoal score was under par because her added total (total round score) of 278 was 10 less than the par total for the tournament of 288. Depending on the course and strength of the field, that score could have very well won the tournament.
