Are there any fish in golf course lakes?Louis Hidden valley golf club norco california
Claude Just about every golf course I have played has been loaded with fish. If they built the hazards by digging out local streams, there will be fish present and even the one's described in the earlier answer will populate with fish provided the water is not treated with chemicals. Given that they generally do not get fished very often, they usually have larger fish who are not accustomed to seeing artifical lures and the like. It makes for some great fishing! Here in PA you typically are going to see more warm water species since the waters are smaller and heat up more but that really depends on the water source they dug the water hazards from. I have permission to fish my local municipal course and I regularly catch 5+ pound bass from the bigger hazards. I spent a week at a course in New Zealand which built their hazards on 3 trout/salmon runs. Their pro-shop had a fly-fishing section inside the golf shop. I was able to fish in the morning, play a round of golf, then go back onto the course for some evening fishing. It is very important to ask for permission though. Many places will have you arrested for trespassing if you do not.
Corrina yes but most courses will NOT let you fish
Gale I have great success at golf course lakes, get permission first!
Josefina i dont think so... ussually the lakes are really dirty and have plastic under the to prevent reotion, and weeds.
Lindy If they will let you fish then there is usually pretty good fishing due to the area not being fished heavy.I have fished a lot of golf course ponds and lakes with great success.Just make sure you have permission!!!
Emilee I have heard that there was very good fishing in golf course lakes, but its hard to get into most of them.
