Which state is best for golf in america?Cristine Hi, I live in Canada and I was just wondering which state is best for golf. Considering, length of the season, membership fee, course design etc... It doesn't have to be the state that offers all year long season because places like arizona has all year long season but it's too hot in summer. So which state do you recommend?
Bell Florida there are cheap greens fees and it's technically summer everyday! I go there to play golf every year!
Birgit There is no one best state for golf, Every region has great courses both public and private. Some have much shorter seasons than others, but that is no reason to eliminate them. Florida , Arizona and the southern tier states get so hot at times that unless you like " blast furnaces " you stay in air conditioning. As for course design, membership fees much depends upon the economy, the popularity of the course and the combined amenities. Generally, golf in the US is a good experience.
Juliane Hey , I live in Augusta GA and the climate is pretty good - this summer we only had a few 100 degree days. There are a lot of course choices within 30 - 45 min drive but more importantly, cost of living is extremely cheap and golf is very affordable.
Lawanna South Carolina. The Myrtle Beach area. You can play most of the year. So many courses to choose from; not the most in the U.S., but a nice amount and not overly expensive.
Nelle idaho their winter green fees are very reasonable- no I'm joking, florida is easily the best with the widest range and easy access during this recession
France florida
Georgie New York is the best place for golf, yet its all private clubs, i would say florida though
