Going to arizona in jan need advice on where to golf and stay?Queen We booked our flights to Phoenix and later realized it was superbowl week so we cant get a hotel anywhere , found a place to stay about halfway between Phoenix and Tucson, If anyone knows some good golf courses that are not too expensive and even a better area to stay within an hour or 2 of Phoenix that has golf near by, we are there from Jan 30th till feb 4 th , also are there any deals on golf like coupon books or anything like that?
Louvenia While the stadium is over in Glendale, I am betting most people will probably be staying in the Scottsdale area. If I were you, I would try and get out of the Phoenix metro area. Try places like Prescott, Tucson, or even Wickenburg. If you are looking for proximity to Sky Harbor airport, then you will probably want to go down Tucson way. I am not sure how lucky you'll get with golf deals. That is the prime season for golf. Rates quadruple from summer to winter. I would try one of the public courses for low rates.
Antionette That's going to be crazy trying to get a room... you may want to check out Prescott... It's about an hour and a half north. Lot's of golf courses, all open to the public... may be a little chilly in Jan though.
Jacqui The Legacy Golf Resort... ohh my god greatest golf are with great food too... my dad works there if you stay there ask for Jose to cook your food
Adrienne You are probably staying in the Casa Grande area, which is only about an hour out of Phoenix, so if you are looking for something 1-2 hours from Phx, you already found it.
Ayanna Look into the East Mesa area. It is so far away from the stadium where the SuperBowl will occur (which is in the far West valley), I would think there would be something out there. There are also several good courses in that area and it is only about an hour drive to Central Phoenix outside of rush hour. For golf coupons, check out 'entertainment.com' and look for the Phoenix book (zip 85040 will get you there). They have HEAPS of Buy 1 Get 1 Free game coupons to several valley courses plus free bucket of balls and others. Also loads of B1G1F coupons for local attractions. Next year's book (starts 11/1/07) will likely go on sale at the end of August for about $30. If you buy a book, there is also a local entertainment book coupon trading site where you could trade some of the other coupons you won't use for more golf or tourist activity ones. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/entertainm…
Faye Try: "The Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center" In Scottsdale, it has a golf course right next door. http://thescottsdaleresort.com/or "The Crown Plaza" in Chandler. It has it's own golf course. http://www.sanmarcosresort.com/I think you can buy golf packages with both hotels. If these are not available, If you find any hotels near these places you can use there golf courses.
Clarence Please don't stay at the San Marcos in Chandler- the photos look great, but trust me, this is not a resort. I know many people that have worked there and you would be shocked at some of the nasty stories i have heard.i would suggestion going to the pointe at south mountain- it's very scenic and has a great golf course. Also, honestly, one of the best/cheapest golf courses is the one located at Arizona State University right off the 202- it's very easy to get to
